Frequently asked questions
I want you to be as comfortable as possible and feel like you can ask me anything.
However, to save a bit of time and ensure you feel as prepared as possible for your
session, I’ve compiled a little FAQ page to answer the more common questions.
How would you describe your shooting style?
Relaxed, informal, creative photography.
What shall I bring to wear?
The number one rule is to wear what you feel comfortable in – if you’re not it will
be very apparent in your photos. Be yourself and wear what will represent
the image you want the viewer to perceive.
For headshots, keep jewellery simple or avoid – too much and too much reflection
will draw attention away from your face.
Once you have made a booking with me, I can advise on outfits and any ideas you have.
What kind of hair/make-up shall I have?
Style your hair the way you normally would but perhaps try to keep it loose and natural.
Avoid heavy eye make-up, shiny eye shadows, and lip gloss – as it can date your
picture and too much shine is distracting on camera and looks wet.
Try to go for a natural look and gently emphasize either the eyes or the lips.
How long will my headshot session take?
Leave one hour for your shoot, though we rarely need it. I will shoot against
a variety of different backgrounds outside in a location near to you.
How do I make a booking?
Please get in touch and check availability by contacting me here where I can also answer
any questions you may have. Or you can call me on 07766 137461.
A 50% deposit will be taken on all bookings to secure your session. This deposit is non-refundable but fully transferable if you need to change your appointment time. The remaining balance of your session fee is due on the day of your appointment.
How long do I have to wait to receive my photographs?
Your images will be ready to view one week after your session date. Before you see your images I will carefully go through all the photographs taken and select the very best ones for you to view. I will then spend several hours working on them to ensure you see them at their finest.
How far will you travel?
I am available to travel to a location of your choosing within a 10 mile roundtrip for free,
thereafter a charge of 45p per mile will be charged.
Who owns the copyright?
You will receive the digital files with full usage rights to use for personal use on your website and printed media. The Client, however, may not reproduce any images for publishing or selling for profit. The Photographer retains the copyright to all photos and images produced.
When booking a photography session you agree to abide by the terms and conditions stated on this website. Please read through these before coming to the session, as they contain important information.
What happened if it rains?
For headshot sessions, don't worry as we can shoot undercover or in open shelter.
For other photoshoots we can reschedule and work with you to find the next possible date.
If you have any queries that are not covered here,
